The mountains catch the clouds in South Africa’s Drakensberg. The world heritage site stretches for 200km, serving up a wonderland of unspoilt mountain range and natural gems that is truly unique to South Africa.

Hike the Great Escarpment and reach the regions highest elevation at 3,482 metres, spot more than 150 species of birds in Champagne Valley, stand atop the towering basalt cliffs at the Berg, tee off at South Africa’s most beautiful golf course at Champagne Sports, and watch as the world’s second highest waterfall, the Tugela Falls, plummets 947 metres to the pool below.

Culturally rich, the region is home to some truly sacred sites. Scattered with caves, Drakensberg has more than 40,000 bushman rock paintings scripted on the walls which is the largest collection of its kind across the globe. Some evidence suggests that the bushman civilisation existed more than 100,000 years ago.
