Lush green gardens give way to the indomitable beauty of the mountains framed, as they are, against a clear blue sky. Breathtaking! The self-catering units are extremely comfortable and the perfect base from which to explore the area. And explore you must! This is a paradise for the adventurous; who can get their adrenaline fix with a spot of white-water rafting or putting gravity to the test with a little abseiling. There are some challenging 4X4 trails too! Clay pigeons have reached huge numbers around the resort, and as a result, guests are encouraged to shoot as many of them as they can. The village of Clarens boasts fourteen, yes, fourteen art galleries and many more craft shops. Be careful, it's way too easy to lose half a day amid the exquisite work on display, especially as there are also great coffee shops where you can refuel! The Golden Gate National Park is a spectacular living testament to the timeless beauty of the area and humanity's enduring love of the wild. It's real and untamed. This is Africa! And if you fancy a cold beer, the resort's pub offers a delicious selection of local brews and is a charming place to relax and enjoy the sunset, or simply calm your nerves after abseiling or exploring.
