Resort overview
The tranquility of this resort makes it particularly popular among people of all ages. Guests praise the room sizes and privacy of the suites, and the pleasure of having their own patio and barbecue grill. Wyndham Newport Overlook also features a swimming pool and a hot tub. For a little activity, Newport is over the bridge, and guests can rent private boats and fishing equipment for a day on the water. For two hundred years and more, the island was an agriculture center and a few farms do remain. Today the island retains its rural charm and the shopping area in Jamestown feels very much like a traditional village. Older neighborhoods and historic properties are preserved, including a lighthouse, the remains of old military fortifications, and windmills. With its abundant space, uncrowded roads, and pleasant views, the island is ideal for biking and hiking. Golf, scuba diving, swimming, and tennis can be enjoyed as well.
