Ptarmigan Village is a cozy village nestled in a 52-acre forest just two miles below Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort.  Located only six miles from Whitefish, Montana, the resort is set in the beautiful Flathead Valley of the northern Rockies.

On-site amenities include walking trails, indoor pool with hot tub and sauna, outdoor pool with sauna, tennis courts, horse shoe pits, fishing pond, playground and a nearby private Whitefish Lake beach area. In addition, the village provides a free shuttle to The Big Mountain in the winter. The units are "rustic" and homelike and cozy with fireplaces or wooden stoves, yet modern with their lofts, vaulted ceilings, spiral staircases and decks.

Many activities are available to choose from: recreational opportunities like skiing, cross country skiing, ice skating, snow-shoeing, snowmobiling, biking, hiking, swimming, horse-back riding, rafting, water-skiing and kayaking will keep you entertained.  Nearby are restaurants, shopping, live theater, art galleries and even bowling and ice skating. Don't forget the champion golf courses next to Glacier National Park. A car is recommended to fully enjoy your vacation. Whitefish, Montana is a year-round playground steeped in the romance of the rails. From its historic railroad depot to its charming Central Avenue, Whitefish was built on the personalities, generosity, and wisdom of its residents. Cafes mingle with gourmet restaurants, general stores share the downtown with galleries and boutiques and western bars.

Getting to Whitefish can be an adventure too. Just 15 minutes from Glacier Park International Airport or accessible by car, bus and for the adventurous, train. No matter how you get there, get to Ptarmigan Village and start your adventure.
