When it's time to kick back and relax, the Surfrider Beach Club on Sanibel Island, Florida is the place to be. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the resort has everything you want and need for a vacation to savor. 

A soothing pool and hot tub are always inviting, and you can use the resort's beach chairs and umbrellas. There are also bicycles for guests to use, as well as a tennis court and playground for the children. And nothing beats dining al fresco using one of the resort's barbecue grills. There are 31 fully furnished units with air conditioning, and three paddle boards and a pair of sleek kayaks available. There's wireless Internet access available in the lobby and a computer for your use, as well as a lending library for books. There's even an on-site laundry, so you can pack light.

If you decide to venture away from the resort, the area has great boating, fishing, shelling and water sports. There are also local nature walks and tours, plus the "Ding Darling" National Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary, though many of the birds enjoy visiting the resort as well. Other local activities include golf, museums, nightlife, and shopping. And don't forget the seashells. Sanibel Island is known far and wide for the exquisite variety of beautiful shells.
