Wyndham Rancho Vistoso in Oro Valley, about 20 miles outside of Tucson, is an excellent base to enjoy the best of the Southwest, including many on-site amenities, the championship Weiskopf-designed golf course next door, and historical and cultural attractions nearby. Due to local municipality tax laws, the resort must collect a mandatory transient occupancy tax at check-in, and you are required to pay for the number of nights on your reservation. For kids (or kids-at-heart) who dream of being a cowboy, Old Tucson, which is both a movie set and a Western theme park, is a must-see.
