Many fascinating historical sites, ruins, and natural landmarks are nearby, including Fort Apache, one of the most widely recognized Army outposts with 20 buildings remaining on the 288-acre historic site. You can also visit the original site, built around 1250 A.D. It was inhabited by the Mogollon (Western Pueblo), whose culture flourished for more than 1,100 years.
