For something more traditional visit Oropesa de Mar just a few kms away. The town’s historic quarter includes some remarkable buildings, such as the church of Virgen de la Paciencia, famous for having gorgeous 18th-century tiles from L’Alcora in its interior. Several ancient towers still stand along with the old castle.
The area is also a great base for exploring Eastern Spain, with both Barcelona and Valencia offering good opportunities for day trips.
