Cradled in the dramatic foothills of the Waterberg mountain range, the awe-inspiring Mabula Private Game Reserve is a spectacular mosaic of landscapes. Boasting an abundance of Africa's most celebrated wildlife, white rhinos and elephants rub shoulders with buffalos, leopards and, of course, lions. Add over 300 species of birdsand this is wild Africa at its finest! There are 12,000 hectares to explore and game viewing is must-do. If you're lucky, you'll see two of the park's coolest residents on your travels, the magnificent African python and the Nile crocodile.
Once you get back, you can always wash the dust off and laze beside the swimming pool. Or get energetic on the tennis and volleyball courts. Accommodation is split between four separate camps, spaced far enough apart to provide a wonderful sense of being out in the wild, alone. The traditional thatched units beautifully encapsulate colonial elegance and contemporary chic. Exquisite!
There's plenty to do nearby too! Hop in the saddle and go horse riding or grab your clubs and enjoy 18-holes, set against a breathtaking backdrop of rivers, streams and vast open plains! The quad-bike rides and Reptile Centre are excellent fun. If that's not enough, then you're only two hours from the bright lights and fine dining of Johannesburg. Or simply relax by the braai with a sundowner and marvel at the beauty of the setting sun.
For the ultimate wildlife adventure holiday visit Mabula Private Game Reserve. It's where Africa comes to life.
