Resort overview
The Suntide Hotel is found in the picturesque seaside town of Margate on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Golden sand and clear blue water are literally right outside the resort and the gently-crashing waves continually call for you to go and play.
The comfortable self-catering units also make the perfect base from which to head out and explore the area. But, first, why not enjoy a relaxing morning by the pool soaking up the African sun or wander across to the beach and bury your toes in the warm sand? Maybe fire up the braai and crack-open a cold one, or just sit back and watch the world wander by over a coffee in the owners' lounge, while the kids enjoy the games room, splash pool and playground?
Exploring the area is a must. Oribi Gorge is stunning. The sight of its spectacular tree-cloaked, sandstone ravines will leave you speechless. The bottom of the gorge is littered with huge rocks, some of which have been estimated to be over 1,000-million-years old! Truly humbling! Leopard Rock is breathtaking, while a visit to the living dinosaurs of Crocodile Farm will leave you in no doubt as to why they are an apex predator. After all that that holidaying, you deserve a treat, and there's no better place to go to for that than The Waffle House. Absolutely delicious! The resort's restaurant is worth trying, as are Margate's restaurants and coffee shops, such as the Pumphouse Bar & Grill.
