Living room with lovely open fire, television, vcr player, dvd player and hifi system. One double bedroom and two twin bedrooms. Bathroom with large bath and shower. There are fabulous views from the property, the living room looks over The Priest’s Loch, while the kitchen and one of the bedrooms has a view over Loch Portain itself.
On site there is a grassy garden area, parking for five cars and use of shared garage storage.
Loch Portain House on the Isle of North Uist, Scotland, was originally the manse in the small fishing and crofting community of Loch Portain, nine miles from Lochmaddy, the main island village and ferry terminal. This rural property has marvellous views over the bay and also inland over the Priest's Loch, renowned worldwide for brown trout fishing.
Designated by the Countryside Commission as in an Area of Outstanding Scenic Interest and by Scottish National Heritage as an Area of Special Interest for Flora and Fauna, it is about fifteen minutes drive from one of the island's most attractive, yet peaceful beaches. Excellent for walking, world famous salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing, bird watching and visiting the many nearby islands, including Berneray (Prince Charles' island hideaway). Further details about fishing are available on request. Excellent bird watching is provided at the RSPB reserve at Balranald. A variety of outdoor activities including watersports, diving, absailing, rock climbing and horse riding can also be arranged nearby. There is also a golf course where visitors are welcome. A car is essential at this property to fully explore the Island.
