Muthu Alexandra Hotel, Oban
Resort overview
The Alexandra Hotel enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in Scotland. The views across Oban Bay to the island of Kerrera and beyond are an instant joy. Colourful sunsets, seabirds of all kinds and seals can be spotted most evenings. The interior of this impressive Victorian building was completely renovated, whilst still retaining many of its magnificent original features. The beautiful glass frontage allows guests to soak up stunning views every minute of the day. Should you succeed in dragging yourself away from the views of Oban Bay you will discover spacious and carefully considered bedrooms with equally beautiful interiors and all the comforts you need to make your stay with us as relaxing as possible. Truly an experience you will never forget.
The largest town in Argyll & The Isles, Oban is known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’ and the 'Seafood Capital of Scotland'.
The town itself lies in a crescent occupying the hills surrounding Oban Bay and is a busy town with great accommodation, cafes and restaurants, and wide selection of activities and day trips. The most outstanding feature within Oban is McCaig’s Tower, the Colosseum look alike which stands above the town and features in many of the postcards to be found on George Street.
There are many places to visit in Oban itself but you can take advantage of the local ferries and discover the Islands of Mull & Iona, Colonsay, Tiree & Coll to name just a few.
