Voyager Apartments Taupo
Resort overview
Voyager Apartments Taupo formerly known as Quest Taupo is just 50 metres from beautiful Lake Taupo itself. With a surface area of 616 square kilometres it is the second largest freshwater lake in New Zealand, so it's no surprise that guests can enjoy a myriad of exciting water sports, including water skiing and swimming.
After a day on the lake you can retire to the Voyager Apartments to relax in the swimming pool or reinvigorate yourself in the plunge pool, before using their spacious barbecue facilities to enjoy the trout you caught earlier. Accommodation at Voyager Apartments is clean and comfortable, and it makes the perfect base camp from which to explore the exquisite natural beauty of New Zealand's North Island.
Alternatively, you can take time to look at Lake Taupo from a different perspective, like from above, with an amazing helicopter or floatplane ride. And, for unashamed adrenaline junkies, there's always skydiving. If you'd prefer something a little more sedate, then grab a fishing rod and head to the water. Cast off from the bank or from onboard a motorboat and pit your wits against the wily cunning of both brown and rainbow trout. Hopping in a kayak and paddling to the Mine Bay is the only way to appreciate the awe-inspiring 10-metre high Maori rock carvings. Created in 1970, the carvings are there to protect the lake from volcanic activity. Incidentally, if you're not up for the paddle, you can take a leisurely tour boat.
The thermal pools are a must-see, too. In fact, we believe at least one visit here is a must-do! Come see why.
