The colonial architecture, its small streets and cobbled courtyards, make San Miguel de Allende a romantic place ideal for rest and relaxation. There are so many places and things to do in or around San Miguel de Allende. A good place to start any tour is Plaza Allende, referred to by locals as The Garden, or towns of the main square. Almost all the attractions of San Miguel are located within 8 miles of The Garden. A walk around San Miguel reveals colonial buildings, giant carved wooden doors, churches, parks with large stone fountains, and several 300 year old mansions that have been converted into gourmet restaurants, cafes, hotels, galleries and boutiques. The easiest way to see everything is on foot. A walk through the center of San Miguel de Allende will take only a few hours, but if you like to see places on the outskirts of the city, such as the hot springs, archaeological site, etc. .. you can make in just one day.
