The Hakone area of Japan is situated in the southwestern part of Kanagawa, and is part of Fuji Hakone Izu National Park. Many popular tourist spots in the region are accessible by the Hakone Tozan Railway, a train that ventures up the steep slope from Yumoto, the entrance of Hakone, to Gora. Visitors can drink in one of the most well-known symbols of Japan, the incredible Mount Fuji, or Owakudani, where volcanic fumes still bear a trace of the Hakone Volcano. Other magical sites worth visiting include Lake Ashinoko, which was created in the crater of the Hakone Volcano, and Susuki Sougen of Sengokuhara, a stone Buddha and stone tower situated in Moto-Hakone.
