Resort overview

Pianeta Maratea is located on a terraced south facing hillside 400m above sea level with spectacular views to the sea. The local pebble beach is 3 km away and is accessed by a complementary shuttle bus along the private road. Guests can take advantage of the wide range of facilities and entertainment at the adjacent Grand Hotel.

 There are 222 units on site consisting of a mixture of ground floor, first floor apartments and 2 storey villas in studios 1 and 2 bedrooms that accommodate 4, 5 and 7 people respectively. The units are equipped with a small kitchen with oven and hob and fridge. There is an open plan/ living dining room. Each unit has a balcony or terrace with outdoor furniture
 
 Pianata is a few km from the town of Maratea, perched on the side of Mount St. Blaise. Maratea, is really a cluster of towns sprinkled along a winding strip of coast, and is for the (cognoscenti); a hideaway for those in-the-know, and for the monied and the pestered. Names such as Frank Sinatra and Princess Diana crop up in stories of Maratea's past - people who found refuge in this place 
 It might just be Italy's biggest secret, as it is so overshadowed Amalfi to the north. The medieval villages of Trecchina and Rivello, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Certosa di San Lorenzo are all a short drive away. 
 The Maratea coast is a tiny, protrusion of the nearly land-locked region of Basilicata, making a break for the sea.
 The area of Lucano also offers the opportunity to visit unspoilt natural parks such as the Pollino and the Apennine Lucano.
