The village of Athenry is 1km from Raheen House. The village is picturesque and is of major historical interest, with a heritage centre detailing places and events of note including Athenry castle.

The Gate House is set in a scenic rural area near rolling green fields. It is only twenty minutes drive from Galway, a beautiful coastal town which offers shopping centres, golf courses and is a well know centre for the arts.

Kinvara Beach 19.2km, Lake 5km, Shop 0.5km, Bar 0.5km,  Athenry Town 0.5km. A car is essential to fully explore this lovely area of County Galway.
