The resort is situated in Finnish Lapland, which is very popular in the winter for downhill and cross-country skiing over frozen lakes and through pine forests, as well as fishing and snowmobiling. Buses take skiers to the slopes in winter, but a car is great for exploring the area the rest of the year. Home is a timber rowhouse sleeping 4, boasting a full kitchen, sauna and a cozy fireplace. Outside, Akaslompolo is a tranquil area with clearly marked walking trails and intimate villages to explore. In winter, Äkäslompolo offers great possibilities for downhill and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. In summertime, hiking and fishing are the main attractions. Äkäslompolo is a small, typical Lappish village that livens up during the season, offering a range of restaurants, bars, and live entertainment.
