The fully equipped boats at Canal Boat Club At Hilperton Marina in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, are purpose built in the North East of England. Narrowboats are built for the special purpose of cruising the inland canal waterways of Britain, they are narrow, tight, long and heavy. Please be aware that beds can often be smaller or narrower than at home. Accommodation includes: Galley with cooker, refrigerator, microwave, sink and all items you will need to cater on board. A comfortable double berth on both sizes of boats and, on the sleeps six, two single berths. A bathroom with toilet, shower and washbasin on both boats and an extra toilet on the six berth boats. A dinette for eating and relaxing during the day, which also makes up to a double berth, if required, at night. Other equipment includes a Television, DVD Player, Radio and CD Player. The boats also have central heating and a 240 volt electricity supply. Cruising is subject to guests accepting the compulsory tuition, which is only available on check-in days. In exceptional circumstances you may not be able to cruise if the Marina staff are not confident in your ability to use the Narrowboat. Minimum number of able bodied persons required is 2. Parking is available for one car per booking, additional parking spaces may be available. Guests are advised to bring wet weather clothing. The club does not guarantee that cruising will be possible since weather conditions; infrastructure repairs or unseen events may impose restrictions over which we have no control. Compensation for loss of cruising time will not be available under any circumstances. Two dogs per boat are allowed at this Marina, an extra charge per dog is made upon arrival. Guests MUST contact the office at least 24 hours in advance to confirm their time of arrival and number of guests in party. Within just a days cruising discover the stunning and unique city of Bath and its world famous Brine Baths, now a World Heritage site. To the east of the Marina is the spectacular Caen Hill flight of locks. There are a number of supermarkets within a couple of miles of the Marina in the town of Trowbridge. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT THE RESORT DIRECTLY Party must consist of 2 active adults, both over the age of 21, no exceptions. Damage waiver is now compulsory - £57.50. Payable per holiday not per week booked. Includes: this covers you in the event of damage, loss or accident to your boat or its inventory during your holiday. Excludes: damage arising from speeding, contact with a lock cill causing damage to the rudder, skeg, stern gear or boat, negligence, malicious or intentional damage to the boat. Also excluded is negligence, malicious or intentional damage to other boats and property and the late return of the boat and return of the boat in unclean condition. Utility fee: Covers gas, pumpout(s), water, and parking of a car for a 4 berth boat and two cars for a 6 berth boat etc. Only one fee payable per holiday but if guests book 2 weeks or more they will be responsible for pump-outs if required. T1 4 berth £58.50 T2 6 berth £72. Fuel Deposit £110 7 nights or £220 14 nights. Stays of longer periods will need to fill up with fuel at their own cost. The boat is handed over ready fuelled but the cost of hire does not include the fuel consumed. A fuel deposit is payable weeks before the start of your holiday. At the end of your holiday period the boat must be refuelled and any difference to the deposit paid will be refunded or charged. The Company may make a fuel surcharge if there is any material increase of diesel or gas prices or duty. It is advisable, for your safety, to watch the Canal & River Trust DVD. Check in outside of normal check in hours/days of 2-5pm in summer and 2-4pm in winter, can only be made by arrangement direct with the marina. This may not be possible and is subject to a charge of up to £50 if it is possible. Cruising is not always available – not only through planned maintenance stoppages but also through closures due to poor weather conditions. Pet charges £40 per pet, maximum 2 pets.
