Potting Shed Cottage in Coxley, Somerset, is a charming, fully equipped, one bedroom property to accommodate two guests. A baby or a very small child can also be catered for, please let the owners know in advance. The Cottage has been awarded four stars by the English Tourist Board.
The Cottage began life as a farm worker's shed and animal shelter, it is now a perfect country hideaway "a deux". The Potting Shed has been restored to a very high standard of workmanship and furnished in a traditional English cottage style together with the 'touches of the unexpected' which are a hallmark of the proprietors.
Accommodation: Comfortably furnished sitting room opens out to views of the garden. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area, an ensuite shower and toilet. The jewel in the crown is probably the Emperor bed.
On site facilities include a fully heated Garden Spa, shared with Spider's End Cottage, set in its own cabin you can relax here and enjoy the views over the meadows to the Mendip Hills. The beautiful surrounding gardens are teeming with wild birds, doves, peacocks, bantams, and our resident turkey. At night there are foxes and badgers who regularly visit our back door.
Potting Shed Cottage is located in Somerset, the ancient Summerland of the Celts, it is the peaceful, beautiful and half-forgotten county of the South West. Steeped in history and legend, boasting an often wild and unspoilt landscape, it's a treasure trove for both relaxation and adventure.
For those escaping from city stress, there are the fabulous walks of the Mendip Hills, together with the Somerset Levels, proudly maintained as one of Britain's largest wetland areas. As one of the mildest and warmest parts of mainland Britain, daffodils have been known to flower at Christmas! There is an extensive National Cycle Network in the county and not one, but two, steam railways to enjoy.
Most of Somerset is within easy reach of London and Heathrow - just two to three hours drive, and less than an hour south of the cities of Bath and Bristol. A car is essential at this property to fully explore all this lovely area has to offer.
