The Hideaway in Whitby, North Yorkshire is a delightful little cottage, tucked neatly away just out of the town centre, enjoying harbour, abbey and sea views with attractive accommodation ideal for a couple or a couple with one child. The property has been awarded three stars by the English Tourism Council.
Accommodation includes a dining kitchen with tumble dryer. Lounge including a put-up single bed. On the second floor there is a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower over the corner bath.
Access is via steps and unsuitable for people with walking disabilities. Please also note, headroom is limited in some places in keeping with the character/age of the property. There is no private parking at the property, parking is available 100 metres away.
Property Location: The Hideaway is located in the old town of Whitby's West Cliff with views over the outer harbour and the famous Abbey. The property is only two minutes to the harbour and the beach.
Distance from town: The property enjoys a central Whitby location, with "Heartbeat" country only six miles away.
Area activities: Depending on season - fishing and boat trips available from the harbour, ghost walks and steam railway. Inland from Whitby, the North York Moors National Park is a quiet, unspoilt upland area perfect for walking or touring. Goathland, with its 'Heartbeat' connections, is within easy reach, as is Grosmont, where the spectacular North York Moors Steam Railway meets the Esk Valley line. Peaceful moorland and gentle valleys with pretty villages, castles and abbeys in abundance, lead to expanses of glorious countryside associated with James Herriot. The Hideaway make a perfect base for exploring this lovely area of north east England.
