Balchik is a charming town located on the northern Black Sea coast. The town has many historic and natural tourist attractions with its ancient atmosphere that has been preserved for centuries now. It sprung to life about 2600 years ago as the Greek city of Cruny. 'Cruny' means mineral springs, underground rivers, or source. Later on, during the reign of Alexander the Greatthe city became known as Dionisopol (City of god Dionysus). There are numerous remains of ancient fortifications as evidence of the large area occupied by the town in the past.

Balchik Palace - The official name of the palace was the Quiet Nest Palace. It was constructed between 1926 and 1937, during the Romanian control of the region, for the needs of Queen Marie of Romania. The palace complex consists of a number of residential villas, a smoking hall, a wine cellar, a power station, a monastery, a holy spring, a chapel and many other buildings, as well as most notably a park that is today a state-run botanical garden.
Kaliakra is a long and narrow headlandin the Southern Dobruja region of the northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, located 12 km east of Kavarna and 60 km northeast of Varna. The coast is steep with vertical cliffs reaching 70 m down to the sea.
Kaliakra is a nature reserve, where dolphins, cormorants and pinnipeds can be observed. It also features the remnants of the fortified walls, water-main, baths and residence of Despot Dobrotitsa in the short-lived Principality of Karvuna's medieval capital. The Bolata Cove with a small sheltered beach lies just north at the mouth of a picturesque canyon, also part of the nature reserve.
Aladzha monastery - The Holy Trinity monastery is of the many rocky monasteries which are still in process of research. It is situated 14 km away from Varna and 2 km away from the sea coast and “Golden Sands” resort. It is known as Aladzha (particoloured) monastery because of the lurid wall paintings. They are dating back from the middle ages and some of them are still preserved. Aladzha monastery is the most visited tourist site along the Bulgarian Black sea coast. 
Dolphinarium Varna - Dolphins and their trainers perform the remarkable Dolphin Show, conducted in four languages at a time – Bulgarian, Russian, German and English. The Dolphin Show comprises of several elements: acrobatics, balancing, music, singing, dances and games with the audience. The show lasts 40 minutes. 
Attraction Park 'Aquapolis' - the most beautiful water park in Eastern Europe, is the first one in Bulgaria, established in a unique Mauritian Mediterranean style. It is located in the northwestern section of 'Golden Sands' tourist resort, on the main costal road from Balchik to Varna. The water park is situated in the forest, sporting a unique sea-view and the whole tourist resort.
