Port Douglas is located on the Coral Sea in the tropical far north of Queensland. It is known for its beach resorts and as a base to visit the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest reef system and Daintree National Park, home to a bio diverse rainforest. You will also find one of Australia’s Best Beaches’ - Four Mile Beach unspoilt by any manmade structures it is the perfect beach to simply stroll along sunrise to sunset. For breathtaking views of Port Douglas visits to Flagstaff Hill is a must or see Port Douglas mangroves from a classic riverboat with expected sights along the way of saltwater crocodiles and water birds. In downtown Port Douglas you will find shops and casual restaurants along with galleries featuring local artists in a wide range of styles. On Sunday mornings you will find a colourful open air market at Anzac Park with fresh fruit and vegetables along with goods produced by local craftsmen and artists.
